4. You are the Network Administrator for a company that has 10 Windows 2000 Professional computers and one Windows 2000 Server. DHCP is installed in the Windows 2000 Server to provide dynamic IP address allocation. As your management wants you to connect all PCs to Internet, you order a MODEM and install it to one of the PCs and then setup Internet connection sharing. What should you do next to ensure that the network is configured properly? (Choose two)

A. Use IPCONFIG to release and to renew the IP address of the PC that enable Internet Connection sharing.
B. Configure the Network Card of the Internet Connection Sharing PC to obtain an IP address from the ISP.
C. Use IPCONFIG to release and to renew the IP address of the rest of the PCs
D. Configure the rest of the PCs to obtain IP Address automatically
E. Uninstall DHCP server.

When a computer is setup to share the internet connection, its network card IP address will be set to 192.168.0.1 and a simple DHCP service will be installed in that computer so that it can assigned IP address range from 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.0.254 to client computers that request for IP. Since ICS has its own DHCP scope that will assign IP address and configuration to clients automatically, the existing DHCP must be uninstall to avoid conflict and also to avoid improper IP address and configuration being provide to client computers from the existing DHCP server. Since all PCs were assigned the IP address by the existing DHCP server, they must run Ipconfig /release and then Ipconfig /renew command to get the new IP Address from the ICS. After that, all computers in the network will be able to communicate with the ICS computer and use the Internet.

The server has several client applications that are only supported by Windows 2000 operating system. Most users in your company use the same application in their local computers that are running Windows 2000 Professional. However, there are 5 Windows 98 computers that cannot run that applications. You want the Windows 98 client computers to run the applications, what should you do? (Choose all that apply)

A. Upgrade All Windows 98 to Windows 2000 Professional and then install the applications.
B. Install Terminal Services Client to the Windows 98 Computers and then connect them to the Terminal Server, after that, runs the application.
C. Change the Terminal Services mode to Application Server mode so that Application can be run in the server from client computers.
D. Share the applications in the server, then connect Windows 98 computer to the share path and the run the application.

To run applications in the Windows 2000 Server that has Terminal Services Installed, you can use terminal services client to connect to the Terminal services in the server, your computer will then be able to control the application which is run in the Server. Note that it is not necessary to change the Terminal Services mode from administration mode to application server mode since both of the modes provide the same functionality except that the application server modes will allocate more resources for Terminal Services. Running the applications from the share will not work because by doing so, the application has to be run in the computer that access to it from network, in this case the Windows 98 computers that are not supported by the application.
