6. You are a systems administrator for a company called MCSA Simulation Ltd. Currently, MCSA Simulation Ltd. has 300 Windows 2000 Professional computers and 5 Windows 2000 Server computers installed at company Main office. To perform a backup test, you log on to a Windows 2000 Server computer named MCSASVR using an account that is member of backup operator group. The Windows 2000 Server computer is a member server of the mcsasimulation.com domain. As the backup tape device manufacturer has release a new update drivers for the tape device, you want update of the tape device drivers before the backup test is performed, what can you do to accomplish this task? (Choose two) A. Since backup
operator group has the right to update backup tape device drivers,
you can open the device manager directly and then update the drivers
From
Microsoft Documentation: Run as
allows you to run programs (*.exe), saved MMC consoles (*.msc), shortcuts
to programs and saved MMC consoles, and Control Panel items. You can
run them as an administrator while you are logged on to your computer
as a member of another group, such as the Users or Power Users group.
There are two types of Runas, one is initiated by using the runas at command prompt, and the other is by using the shift key together with a right click on the item you want to run. Normally, we do not log on to our Domain using our Administrator account to avoid some security treats, as such, runas is very useful as we can still perform some administrator tasks with current user account without having to log off and log on again. When you use runas, or Run as and then supplying the administrator user account and password, administrator right is granted for the program that you run, but all other user rights are still remaining the same. Runas/run as is per session only, as such, after you close the program you use the run as to run, you no longer have the right to use it again, unless you use the runas/run as again or otherwise log on as a user that have the administrator privileges. for 70-215 exam 9. You installed a SCSI controller and a SCSI hard disk to one of your Windows 2000 Server computers. After you start your computer, you found that both the SCSI controller and the hard disk are not listed in your device manager. While you check the hardware compatibility list, you found that the SCSI controller is not listed at Windows 2000 HCL. What can you do to make sure that you can use that SCSI hard disk? (Choose two) A. Use the add/remove
hardware applet at control panel to add the SCSI controller drivers
by supplying the disk provided by the manufacturer. For this case, your SCSI controller is not detected, hence the hard disk will not be operational. To solve this problem, you have to make sure that the SCSI controller is installed. To do so, you can either use the add/remove hardware applet at control panel or the setup program provided by the hardware manufacturer. When a Windows 2000 Server is started, it will automatically detect the new hardware, for this case, the SCSI controller is not detected, if you tried again in the device manager, the result will be the same, as such, D is an incorrect answer(we normally scan for new hardware change when a plug and plug device is added to the system while the system is already up and running). The rescan disks option is used only if you have a hard disk that supports hot swapping or hot plug, with that, you can add or swap hard disk without shutting down your computer by using the rescan disks to scan for newly added hard disk. For this case, it is nothing to do with the hot swapping or hot plug hence B is also an incorrect answer. Since the hardware is not listed at HCL, using Windows 2000 Installation CD will not help. It is not necessary to reinstall Windows 2000 to redetect the hardware hence C is also an incorrect. Finally, some hardware manufacturers may provide the installation disk to install the hardware to our system by using the custom setup application. Read the following Microsoft Documentation to find out more. From
Microsoft Documentation: If the
device is not Plug and Play, you may have to use the Add/Remove Hardware
wizard in Control Panel to tell Windows 2000 what type of device you
are installing. After the device is detected, or you identify the
device using the Add/Remove Hardware wizard, Windows 2000 may ask
you to insert the Windows 2000 CD-ROM or the manufacturer's floppy
disk so it can load the proper device drivers.
